The holiday season in
Nelson County and Wintergreen Resort is a
favorite of everyone. The seasons starts with
the long Thanksgiving weekend and lasts until
New Year’s Day. There are holiday decorations,
parties, crafts, wine tours, the start of ski
season, special restaurant menus and events for
family and friends.

The Ski & Ride Season
opened early this year. We are already on the
slopes and The Plunge Tubing Park and having
fun. Check out my daily blog for continued

Season Ski Passes are now

Ridgely’s Fun Park
will open for the kids between Christmas and New
Years. This NEW feature in Wintergreen is for
kids—even as young as 2 ½. There will be an
easy tubing area, snow forts, snow trails and
even visits by the resort’s mascot Ridgely.

Nelson County Christmas Parade. Get ready for
the holiday season by bringing your family to
the annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade
in the village of Lovingston. The parade
features floats, marching units, vehicles,
animals and best of all Santa Claus. There are
also civic clubs and street vendors selling food
and beverages. The parade travels north through
the village and ends at the old packing shed
where Santa visits with children of all ages.

Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas
Celebrate the most magical time of the year at
Wintergreen Resort with horse-drawn carriage
rides, holiday craft workshops, Santa on the
slopes, story time with Mrs. Claus and New

New Year’s Eve
Festivities in Nelson & Wintergreen
Masked Ball at
Veritas Winery. Enjoy Veritas wine and hors d’oeuvres. Then on to
a five-course winemaker’s dinner at 8 pm in
Saddleback Hall. There will be dancing until
midnight - champagne, then the mask come off. At
12:30 we will have breakfast in the tasting
room. So bring your mask and your dancing shoes
to have some great food, great wine and great
fun and bring in the New Year 2009. 7 pm – 1 am.

Wintergreen Resort is planning festive parties
in all of its restaurants. There is also a
Dance Party. Now is the time to make
reservations for any of these events.
The Ballroom Dance Party
Leave your suit and tie at home and join us for
an after dinner party! The unique sounds of the
Deanie Blues Band will entertain you with
soulful blues to R&B. Their music is "lean back
in your chair and groove" and "jump on the floor
and dance." Enjoy a complimentary cocktail,
party favors, a tempting dessert buffet and
coffee bar. In addition, a cash bar is offered.
Of course we’ll celebrate in style with a
champagne toast at midnight. Doors open at 8
p.m. $45 per person. Reservations required,

The Copper Mine
Should you desire a more intimate celebration,
The Copper Mine, Wintergreen Resort’s flagship
restaurant, is the place to be this year after
receiving the Wine Spectator Award for its wine
list.
Join us for an a la carte selection of the
finest prime beef and fresh seafood. Bring in
2009 with the tunes of "Joe Pettus and the
Heartbreakers" from 9 p.m. until midnight.
Dinner will be severed from 5:30p.m.-10 p.m.

Stoney Creek Bar and Grill
Stoney Creek will feature a pre-fix menu with
acoustic guitar from 6-8:15 p.m. and then dance
into the New Year here to the tunes of the "Jazz
Rascals" from 8:30-11 p.m. Reservations required

The Edge
Put on your party hats and bring out the
noisemakers as we bid farewell to 2008. Sip on
your favorite drinks and forget last year's
resolutions. Dance the night away with a live
performance by "Everyday People" and welcome
2009 with a classic champagne toast.
The Edge will serve its full menu until 10
p.m.; then jam to classic rock and funk into the
New Year. A retro 70's and 80's dance band will
play from 9:30 p.m. until midnight. Champagne
toast and cheese and veggies will be served from
10-11p.m. $30 per person. No advance
reservations.
The Devils Grill
Pop the cork on a memorable New Year's Eve
party. The champagne is chilled, and the dancing
is divine. With the "Nicholson Brothers" playing
your favorite blues, jazz and rock, plus a
champagne toast and party favors - counting down
the New Year in the casual elegance of Devils
Grill is sure to be the highlight of this or any
year.
Devils Grill will feature a special a la
carte menu for New Year’s Eve from 5:30-10p.m.

Calling all monsters!! Come in your favorite
costume and have a delightfully scary time,
making weird webs, beastly balloons and
terrifying tarantulas! Our aliens will dine on
monster pizzas and witch potions, will play
shadow games and wacky relays, and will settle
down and watch the Disney Pixar film, "Monsters,
Inc".
Camping Party

WOW!!! Kids will love our indoor campout,
complete with a tent, mini s'mores cooked over a
candle flame, ghost stories, and silly games
around the "campfire" and flashlight limbo.
Pizza, trail mix and bug juice will be our

Location: The Dome

Hey, come to the Dome for the New Year's Eve
countdown where we have X-box, Wii, Rock Band,
Guitar Hero, mechanical bull and more! Pizza,
and wicked prizes given out every hour!
