Devil’s Knob Golf in
Wintergreen Resort
I noticed a lot of players
on the Devil’s Knob Golf Course yesterday. Even
though the trees on Wintergreen mountain have
not started to green, the golf course looks
great. In yesterday’s blog, I mentioned some
great prices on mid-week play. ($39) There are
some sunny days predicted for next week. So,
join us on Devil’s Knob. Call 434-325-8251 for
more details on Wintergreen Golf.
Devil’s Knob is
nationally-known for its beauty and challenge.
Here are a few facts:
- At 3,850 feet, the
highest course in the State of Virginia
- Rated one of the
State's top courses
- 50-mile views of the
Shenandoah and Rockfish valleys
- Surprisingly level
mountaintop terrain
- Pleasant 70-85 degree
temperatures throughout the spring and
summer
- Spacious 16,585 square
foot clubhouse, featuring pro shop with
top-of-the-line merchandise, locker room,
fine dining and snack shop
When Ellis Maples designed
this, the highest golf course in Virginia, his
challenge was to enhance its stunning Blue Ridge
Mountain setting. Devil’s Knob is usually even
12-15 degrees cooler than its sister course in
Stoney Creek. I have a client who will play on
both Stoney Creek and Devil’s Knob today. Just
ask Wintergreen to plan a fun-filled day on both
courses for your group, including lunch at the
Stoney Creek Bar & Grill.
Wintergreen has a total of
45 holes and can plan a golf event for a group
in size from 16-360 people.
Golf at Stoney Creek

In yesterday’s blog, I
mentioned that we are counting down the days
until opening day for the Devil’s Knob Golf
Course opens. Well, the good news is that the
Stoney Creek golf course is open year-round.
So, you can enjoy golf in Wintergreen this
weekend. As a matter of fact, you can going
skiing in the morning and then take your lift
ticket down to Stoney Creek Golf for a greatly
reduced golf afternoon. Call Stoney Creek Golf
for information about this program.

It’s 27 holes on a Rees
Jones designed course in the beautiful Rockfish
Valley. The course is set against dramatic
Blue Ridge Mountain views. There is meandering
streams, hardwood forests and pristine
wetlands. Rees Jones’ trademark “mounding”
frame each hole.
